- Login to Blogger
- Click on "Layout"
- Click on "Edit HTML" tab

- Find the string class='post-footer'
- Insert a new line after the line of code for post-footer
- Paste the code for your buttons (#3 above)
- Preview to make sure it worked
- Save your modified blogger template
Activity Two: Explore delicious
- Start at the beginning by going to the popular social bookmarking site "delicious" (http://www.delicious.com)
- Any interesting bookmarks on the home page?
- Look at the most recent bookmarks (http://delicious.com/recent/). Find something of interest and click on the name of the person who recently bookmarked the page (the username is listed below the bookmark.) What can you discover about the person you selected? What are they "following"? What are their interests? What tags are they using on a regular basis?
- When exploring delicious, you are usually looking for "experts" or people with common interests. You can follow their bookmarks to keep up with the latest on the web. You can also use them as a resource for researching papers, etc.
- We'll be doing some work with Chris Brogan later in the semester. He's a social media "guru". Take a look at his bookmarks.
- Tyler mentioned that he used delicious while building his presentation for our class. Check out his bookmarks.
- You can also explore delicious using tags (instead of following a particular person.) Look at the most popular tags on delicious (http://delicious.com/?view=tags). Click on a tag of interest on the far right of the page. Notice that you can use this page to explore individual people or related tags.
Activity Three: Use delicious for Assignment 3
THIS ACTIVITY TO BE COMPLETED WITH YOUR GROUP FOR ASSIGNMENT 3
Review Assignment 3
Hire the Better Writer (Assignment 3)
- Now it's time to sign up for an account on delicious (http://www.delicious.com)
- Once you've signed up, you'll need to install delicious on your Firefox or IE toolbar
- As a group, decide on a "tag" to use to identify items you want to share for Assignment 3. (Note: Make sure the tag isn't already in use by searching for the tag on delicious.)
- Use Google to find two items (blog posts, articles, webpages, etc.) related to the topic of Assignment 3 on writing better blog posts.
- Bookmark those items, write a short description, and use the "tag" agreed upon by your group.
- Once everyone has bookmarked two items with delicious, review all bookmarks for the tag your group selected.
